GETFIT comp squad / barbell club

Take your training to the next level with our advanced classes. Designed for those experienced clients who wish to improve their olympic lifting, strength and skills in all areas of fitness. Participants will train at a level to ensure they are ready for competition standard, and have the opportunity to participate in various local competitions throughout the year. Tuesday and Thursday 6.30pm.

Mums (and bubs) XFIT classes

As a new Mum myself, I know how hard it is to get out the door, let alone trying to exercise! Our Mum’s classes not only provide a safe environment where you can bring bub into the gym whilst you work out, but classes also focus on specific considerations regarding postpartum training. Not only do we work on getting you fit and regaining your pre baby body, but also ensure your training helps heal your body 100% and help strengthen those weakened muscles caused though pregnancy and birth. Ladies with or without children of all ages are welcome! (you don’t need a newborn!) A great friendly class to get you feeling like YOU again! Wednesday and Friday 9.15am.

Outdoor Bootcamp

Our outdoor bootcamp classes are 45-minute circuit training sessions that will work your WHOLE body. Utilising aerobic training as well as High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), we provide an effective work out that caters for all ages and abilities. Our classes are specially designed to focus on weight loss and muscle toning, and will fast track an improvement to your fitness level. Our bootcamps are energy boosting sessions that will ensure you challenge yourself and achieve the results you are looking for – all while have fun and working out in a non-intimidating session with like-minded people.

Boxing Fitness

Do you want to achieve weight loss, increase coordination and agility, create muscle tone and improve your fitness? Then our boxing classes are the perfect fit for you!

Boxing Fitness is a non-intimidating, non-threating way to work out in a group environment. Boxing classes are focused on a combination of boxing moves that will tone and shape your body. You will learn boxing techniques, as well as complete cardio to help improve your fitness. We also incorporate High Intensity Interval Training techniques that will lift your energy levels, reduce stress, and help you to lose weight. Our classes are a high energy, highly effective training solution that will give you a full body workout and keep you moving the whole time.

Sports Specific Yoga

Known for our role as official ‘Yoga Teacher to the Cairns Taipans’ during their runner up season in 2014-15, GETFIT yoga is an effective and results based program designed specifically for athletes of all levels and disciplines.

We understand the impact of fitness training and sports on your muscles, joints and bones and the need to incorporate adequate recovery techniques into your training regime. Without set recovery sessions, your performance suffers and you place yourself at great risk of injury.

GETFIT Yoga offers the physical aspect of your recovery and focuses on stretching and releasing the muscles through basic Asanas, deep stretches and relevant sequences. Much of our practice involves release through the hips, quads, hamstrings, glutes as well as the upper body. We use basic Pranayama to assist in achieving the most out of each stretch.

Our goal is not only to assist your body to recover and feel better after and during training periods, but to help with core activation and strength, body awareness and balance. These elements when worked on will not only help you with your training and specific sport, but in your functional everyday life.

So whether you’re a professional athlete or someone that jogs a couple of times a week, GETFIT yoga will help keep your body limber and your muscles in peak condition to get the most out of your physical training.

Running & Triathlon Training

We love turning ordinary people into awesome athletes! Each year we enter individuals and teams into various running and triathlon events in Cairns, including Ironman Cairns 70.3 and Port Douglas triathlon, local fun runs, charity runs and triathlon events, and the Great Barrier Reef Marathon Festival. The team events are perfect for people that have an interest in swimming, cycling or running, yet would never have the confidence to compete in an official event, and are a great opportunity to train alongside your teammates to compete within our local community. Crossing the finish line is an achievement to be experienced!
